Jan 8  General Meeting
 
Reid-Hillview Airport terminal building. Food and hangar talk starting 6:30pm. The program,to be announced, starts 7:30.


Feb 5  General meeting
 
RHV Terminal, hangar flying and food start 6:30pm. The official program starts at 7:30. Our Speaker will be Herb Spenner. Herb is an instructor in the Aviation Department at Gavilan College and will be giving us a presentation on the Aviation program available at Gavilan College.


Mar 5  General Meeting - Reid-Hillview Terminal building
 
Mark Wainwright will present "Mission to Montauk" about his Boxing Day flight to Montauk, New York. In addition to a description of the flight, Mark will discuss OpenAirplane and the process that allowed him to perform a check-out at Reid Hillview and immediately rent a C172 airplane on Long Island.

Hangar talk and food starts 6:30pm, the official program starts at 7:30.


Apr 2  General Meeting - Change of Venue
 
The April meeting will be at Rusty's house. Stand by for details.

Hangar talk and food starts 6:30pm, the official program starts at 7:30.

Our speaker will be Chapter Member John Gould. John will be giving a presentation on Drones. He will be showing some slides and talking about the FAA Regulations concerning the operation of drones. In addition to this presentation you will be able to take a look at Rusty's Seawind Project.


May 7  General Meeting - Reid-Hillview Terminal building
 
Hangar talk and food starts 6:30pm, the official program starts at 7:30.

We have a special guest speaker. Walker Pierce-Percy will be speaking to us about his time in the Air Force and flying the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy. Walker is currently in the Air Force reserves and flying the C-5 out of Travis Air Force Base. Walker took his 1st flight on May 6,1995 in a Piper PA 28150 Cherokee with our own Rusty Wells. Should be an interesting presentation.


Jun 4  General Meeting - Hangar U16 at Reid-Hillview
 
Please note we will not be meeting in the Terminal Building. WE WILL BE MEETING AT CHAPTER MEMBER LARRY REED'S HANGAR, U16.

Larry's hangar is in the last row of hangars. It faces Eastridge and is on the left. Larry will be showing us his restoration project, an Aeronca.

Hangar talk and food starts 6:30pm, the official program starts at 7:30.


Jul 2  General Meeting - Change of Venue
 
6:30pm: Our General meeting this month will be held at Chapter Member John Castner's home in San Jose. The address is 1288 Hester Ave, San Jose, Ca 95126.John is building a Sonex and will be showing us his progress to date and answering any questions you might have.


Aug 6  General Meeting, RHV terminal building
 
Hangar flying 6:30pm. THe 7:30 program will consist of AirVenture reports from some of our Chapter members who were able to attend this year.


Sep 3  General Meeting
 
Food and hangar talk starts 6:30pm, Reid-Hillview Airport terminal.

At 7:30 PM Owen Leipelt will be giving the presentation and will be sharing his experiences at Air Academy this summer. Hope you can join us.


Oct 1  General Meeting, RHV terminal building
 
Our October General Meeting will be held this Thursday, October 1, in the Terminal Building at RHV. Hot Dog Dinner (includes beans, salad, chips, drink and ice cream) for $7.00 will be available after 6:30pm.

Meeting will start at 7:30pm. Our guest speaker will be Owen Liepelt. Owen was one of the two Air Academy Candidates our Chapter sent to Oshkosh this year. Owen will be talking about his experiences in Oshkosh. Should be an enjoyable evening.


Nov 5  General Meeting - Election
 
Reid-Hillview terminal building.

Hot Dog Dinner will start at 6:30pm followed by our meeting and guest speaker. Elections for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and 3 Board Members will take place at this time.

Once the Chapter business has been taken care of we will have a presentation by a very special woman. Rose Lesslie, 89 years young and full of life, will speak to us about her time during WWII and her husband who served in the US Marines during that time. This would be a great time for the men to bring their wives. Rose is a very interesting lady and I think you will enjoy hearing her speak.


Jan 7  Chapter meeting
 
Hangar flying start 6:30pm, RHV Terminal Building.

Our newly elected Vice President, Owen Liepelt, will be our speaker. Owen is an accomplished photographer and will be sharing some of his favorite shots.

Program starts 7:30.


Feb 4  Chapter meeting
 
Hangar flying start 6:30pm, RHV Terminal Building. Dinner will be followed by a Movie Night. We will have several aviation themed films to choose from .


Mar 3  Chapter meeting
 
Hangar flying start 6:30pm, RHV Terminal Building. Starting 7:30 Michael Mainiero will be talking about his knowledge as an air to air photographer, experiences as a Young Eagle and now as young eagles pilot, his work as a Skydive pilot and safety regarding skydiving ops, and his volunteer work with the Patriots Jet Team foundation. Should be an interesting presentation


Apr 7  Chapter meeting
 
Hangar flying start 6:30pm, RHV Terminal Building.

This months speaker will be Justin Greenway. He is a KC10 pilot based out of Travis who recently came back from deployment in Afghanistan. He is eager to share some pictures and stories.

Chris Bennett may be sharing some pictures from his Baja trip and Owen Leipelt will show the video he made when he went down to Los Banos.


May 5  Chapter meeting
 
Hangar flying start 6:30pm, RHV Terminal Building. Our guest speaker will be Jim Lafferty.


Jun 2  Chapter meeting
 
Hangar flying start 6:30pm, RHV Terminal Building. Program starts 7:30.

Chris Bennett will be our guest speaker. Chris will be talking about a recent trip to Death Valley and showing some photos and possibly another trip. Come out and enjoy a couple of hours with friends who share like interests.


Jul 7  Chapter meeting

Our guest speaker is Eric Sibley. Eric is an A&P and also a pilot for Fry's.Eric flies their Sabreliner and Gulfstream.


Aug 4  General Meeting
 
Reid-Hillview terminal building 6:30 food and hangar flying followed by reports on Airventure.


Sep 1  Chapter meeting
 
Hangar flying start 6:30pm, RHV Terminal Building. Program starts 7:30. Our speakers will be the 2 candidates we sent to the EAA Air Academy this year. They will report on their experiences.


Oct 6  General Meeting: RHV Tower Supervisor
 
Hangar flying and BBQ starts at 6:30pm, the program starts 7:30. The RHV tower supervisor will be the featured attraction.

Our meetings are open to anyone interested in aviation.


Nov 3  Chapter meeting
 
Hangar flying start 6:30pm, RHV Terminal Building. Starting around 7:30, Mike Friend, a retired chief engineer of preliminary design at Boeing will talk about electric airplanes.


Jan 5  General Meeting
 
Food and hangar flying start at 6:30pm in the RHV terminal building.

The official program starts 7:30. This month's speaker will be two members from the SJSU precision flight team. They will be talking about some of the activities they do as part of the team as well as a report on the recent NIFA completion that took place here at Reid Hillview last month.

Everyone is welcome.


Feb 2  General Meeting: OSH report

This month Matt Keane will be reporting on his trip to Oshkosh.


Mar 2  General Meeting: Zinnia Fredrickson
 
Hangar flying and food start at 6:30, RHV terminal building. The official program starts 7:30pm.

If you have ever wondered what it's like to fly competition aerobatics or how to get into it Zinnia Fredrickson will be giving a presentation on this subject. Should be very interesting.

Zinnia has been a private pilot for nearly four years ; half of them as a competitive aerobatic pilot . She competed in her first aerobatic contest only two and a half months after her first aerobatic lesson . Of the ten competitions she's participated since she's reached the podium seven times . Though humbled and new to the sport , she's eager to share how newcomers can get started in the demanding sport of competitive aerobatics.

Jeffery Lo will be our guest speaker. He flies a Pitts Special which he races at Reno and will be speaking to us about his experiences as an air racer. Should be an interesting evening.
